GAME OFFICIALS

THIS IS A GREAT PLACE FOR US TO LEARN & GROW

Briah-lee Tahata said :

"Improving the quality of referees is one of Pioneers big homework as the Greater Springfield Association."

"A good quality of referees will make the competitions even better. A good competition will always improve the quality of every game and the performance of athletes on the court."

"All of these things are achievable and sustainable, and we Game Officials will  continue to learn and add more knowledge and abilities from Kenny the referee consultant coming on board this year 2023. Our plan is to lead every game we officiate in the future preparing for 2032."

OUR GAME OFFICIALS CLINICS COMING IN 2023 CAN BE A STARTING POINT FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR BASKETBALL IN GREATER SPRINGFIELD

During the course of the clinic, all participants will go through rigorous assessment of skills as part of an important evaluation exercise to identify referees targeted for our local competitions and those with the most potential for our representation in SQJBC and QSL Youth League.

On-court practical sessions will be organised to help the aspiring participants understand the tasks at hand to help them eventually become FIBA licensed referees and understand how to tackle challenges during the games.

"This Game Officials clinic should be a starting point for the Greater Springfield improvements, Kenny can transfer his knowledge and gift of officiating to our own.

"Greater Springfield Pioneers will be better in the future with the referees willing to upgrade their officiating and communication skills
