WELCOME TO HOOPS

AGE - U12 & U14 Mixed

The HOOPS Program serves as an initiation into competitive games for players in the U12 and U14 age groups. Participants will acquire essential basketball-specific skills, laying the foundation for their competitive journey. Emphasising skill development, our focus during these age groups is on providing players with the tools to apply what they've learned in training, enabling them to make informed decisions during games. We avoid excessive micromanagement in this early learning and gameplay phase, striving to allow players the freedom to implement their skills.

The primary objective at this stage is to create a positive experience for both individual players and teams, with a concentrated effort on skills enhancement, effective communication, enjoyment, teamwork, and the promotion of healthy minds and relationships with teammates and coaching staff. Our approach seeks to foster a love for the game and encourage players to make positive choices through their playing experiences, ensuring their continued engagement with basketball. Each season is designed to facilitate the personal development of players, equipping them for life, whether on or off the court.

Loaded with excitement, the HOOPS program provides a joyful haven for children, parents, and families, offering a secure meeting place throughout the year for engaging in basketball. Engaging in sports aids young kids in self-discovery, enabling us to support players facing challenges both on and off the court. Basketball, being an ideal arena for exploration, equips children with the skills to tackle obstacles, imparting resilience and the ability to rebound from defeats while embracing the notion that making mistakes is part of the journey.

Through our coaching and mentoring efforts, numerous lives have been positively transformed. The HOOPS Program is dedicated to accompanying our players through every game, championship, and life event. Our primary focus is on ensuring our members have a blast, acquire teamwork skills in this fantastic sport, and cultivate the confidence to pursue their aspirations.

Witnessing rapid progress among our players, some of whom advance to older age groups early due to enhanced skill sets and self-confidence, is a testament to the program's effectiveness. Basketball's status as the world's fastest-growing sport, particularly in Australia, offers the joy of year-round play to everyone. We consider ourselves truly fortunate to be establishing a community basketball family, creating memories that will endure a lifetime for our Pioneers!

To facilitate your child's smooth integration into the HOOPS group, our friendly coaches serve as motivators, inspiring individuals who adhere to our association's STAR standards, radiating infectious energy and embodying a nurturing personality.

If you harbor an interest in contributing to coaching, management, or joining our committee, kindly inform us. For information on getting your child started in the program, please refer to the details below.
